What is Wakelet for School Districts?

Our package for school districts is the best solution for districts who would like to implement Wakelet for whole schools or the entire district, for both teachers and students. Our package for districts includes bulk creation of accounts (so that teachers don’t need to set up accounts for themselves and their students individually), as well as our premium level of support, bespoke PD and onboarding support and analytics about how Wakelet is being used.

Why should I consider a school or district-wide implementation of Wakelet?

There are many benefits of implementing Wakelet across an entire school or district, including:

  • Bulk creation of accounts - you can be sure that all users are set up with the correct login or SSO credentials, using the correct school email address and that all data is being handled in line with your district’s data privacy policies.
  • You will have a structured and bespoke PD training program to help get your teachers going, tailored to your own requirements. This helps you get the maximum value from using Wakelet as quickly as possible, ensures consistency across the school(s) and takes the pressure off your own resources!
You will have a single point of contact in the Wakelet team - always available to answer any questions directly and to coordinate any further assistance you may need from the wider Wakelet team.

What is included in the package for School Districts?

Our package includes all of the features & functionality for individual free accounts, plus:

  • Bulk creation of accounts for all teachers, students and staff and/or supported connection to Clever or Classlink rostering systems
  • Bespoke PD & training to help teachers get started during the first semester
  • Refresher training and updates every semester through the year
  • Access to the Wakelet District Resource Hub for additional self-paced training content and inspiration
  • Analytics, provided once per semester, giving data on student and teacher usage

Billing

What are the pricing plans?

Our package for districts is priced per user account, per year. Please get in touch on at community@wakelet.com for a quote for your school/district.

What does per user account, per year mean?

One user account is equivalent to one teacher or one student account, linked to a single district email address.

Where can I use the plans?

Wakelet can be used on the web, on iOS and Android mobile apps and via a mobile web browser.

How can I update my billing contact?

Simply contact your dedicated Wakelet account manager and they will be able to update your contact information for you!


How can I pay my invoice?

Instructions for the options for paying your invoice, and the details required for bank transfers can be found on your invoice. Alternatively, simply reach out to your Wakelet account manager, who will be able to answer any questions.

How can I ask a question about my existing invoice?

Simply contact your Wakelet account manager, who will be able to assist you with any queries.

Where can I find my invoice?

Your invoice will be sent to your billing contact via email - if you require another copy, please contact your account manager.

Where do I send a purchase order?

Send your purchase order to your dedicated Wakelet account manager.

Renewal 

How can I check to see if my Wakelet for School District subscription is up for renewal?

The contract signed with your school district when initially will normally state the dates for your current agreement. We will also reach out to you when it it time to renew. At any other time, you can get in touch with your Wakelet account manager who will have all of the info to hand!


My Wakelet for School District subscription isn’t up for renewal, but we need more licenses. What should I do?

Simply reach out to your account manager who can prepare a quote and assist in getting any new user accounts up and running for you.


Who should I contact to renew my Wakelet for School District subscription?

Contact your Wakelet account manager, and they will be able to provide you with your quote and a renewal agreement. If this process should include your district procurement team, this is also a good time to loop the relevant stakeholders into the conversation.

Privacy & Data

Do you have to create a personal Wakelet account when you use Wakelet for School Districts?

No, there is no need to create a personal account (unless you wish to do so with a personal email address). Our account creation step will roster accounts from your school district database, and create all of the accounts you need!


Where are your data centres located?

Our data centers are hosted by AWS, in Ireland. AWS is compliant with NIST 800-53, and covers physical infrastructure, data centers and much of the networking and data infrastructure. For further information, please contact your Wakelet account manager, or email us at support@wakelet.com.

Security

How does Wakelet keep my information secure?

All information provided to us is stored on our secure servers. Where we have given you (or you have chosen) a password to access certain parts of Wakelet, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential and not sharing it with anyone. It’s important for you to prevent unauthorized access to your account and personal information by choosing and protecting a strong third-party service password and by limiting access to your computer and browser by signing off after you have finished using Wakelet. We will never email you to ask for your password or other Account Information; if you receive such an email, send it to us so that we can investigate and take any appropriate action.


We have put appropriate security measures in place to prevent your personal information from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorised way, altered or disclosed. In addition, we limit access to your personal data to only those employees, agents, contractors and other third parties who have a business need to know. They will only process your personal information under our instructions and they are subject to a duty of confidentiality.

As part of any district implementation, we would also complete any data sharing agreements for your district or state, if this has not been completed already.

What security certifications does Wakelet hold?

Wakelet is compliant with COPPA, FERPA, CSPC, SOPPA, SOPIPA, NY EdLaw 2D and GDPR. We undergo an annual audit with iKeepSafe, as well as a review each time we make any improvements to the Wakelet platform and apps.


We regularly review and sign data privacy and sharing agreements, and have a number of state-wide agreements in place for districts to sign up to via the Exhibit E (where these are available). If you wish to have your district data privacy agreement reviewed and signed by Wakelet, please send it over to support@wakelet.com.
